Question about my new Sony H2

Hey all,
Bought a new Sony H2 but cant seem to get my Sandisk Mem Stick Pro Duo to work in the camera.. Its a 1gig card.. I have tried wiping all info from it, re-formating etc but the camera still wont accept it..
I have tried a Sony Pro Duo that came with a PSP and that works fine..

Anyone any ideas or advice... Dont really wanna shell out for another card...

try formatting it in the camera? otherwise duff card.

No I dont think the card cant be faulty as have been using it in a PSP for months..
I cant format it in the Camera as it says "Re-Insert Card" everytime I try insert it into camera.
Any other ideas??

card might work on the psp and not the camera. where'd you get the card....if it was the net you may well have gotten a didge card? if not, send it back, or borrow another card to see if its the camera

Bought it on the net about 7 months ago for use with PSP.. It has worked fine with PSP.
A Didge card??

Out in states at moment so cant borrow one so gonna have to try sort it another way..

sorry meant dodge. alot of unbranded cards floating round causing ruckus on gadgets these days, unless you buy a sony card from a shop i think your takin a chance these days. i heard a batch of sansick had been sold in a retail shop, all very good copies(outside at least) and the owners didnt even cop. something bout the code on them being printed on the fakes and stamped on the originals, sorry bit off topic :rolleyes:

ive just had a look at he spec and noticed that the camera has an internal memory... do you need to switch it from internal memory to external memory card??? .... i think i had to on my old point and shoot digital.

just a thought ... worth a try to save a few bucks

After more research looks like its a software glitch with the entire first batch of H2's... It requires a software update which can be downloaded from the Sony site in order to use Sandisk cards.
Going to give it a go tonight to update the software.. I am a little wary of doing it tho with it being brand new and all..
Little annoying to have to do it so soon after getting it.

SUCCESS.. Updated the software (which turn out to be pretty simple) which was available to download from the sony site..
Apparently it was a glitch in early models which has now been sorted..

Now can use my san disk 1 gig card.. Happy days!!!!

NIce one, forking out for crap is a front bum especially if ya found that out after you got a new card
