You can connect that to an lnb input on another receiver. But one must remain in standby/off, as only one can power the lnb at a time afaik...

Good choice there, I {we} have been using the Opticum / Globo receivers for a while now and find them excellant.

Does that mean i can go from sky dish to fta reciever and loop back to sky box without satellite signal being degraded?

Would lnb blow if i had both recievers on at the same time?

    Regards

DOesn't work with a Sky box, as in standby it is still running.

Main use is to loop to an analogue receiver. Which is what I use it for when the digital box moves dish to 5W.

My fta reciever has 2 bars next to the sat dish in installation mode and i have a list of satellites next to it.

as i said before my lnb is the old analog type and watty advised lowering the freq i think.

Question is i IF go in 2a2b sat there is low ku,high ku,normal, universal and cable i cannot get itv or bbc though i pick up the german channels ok.

Is the bbc etc alignment on the same horizontal setup as hotbird?or will i have to change vertical also.

    Do i need 22k enabled?

SO USING OLD ANALOG LNB I CHANGE?

    UNIVERSAL?
    LOW KU?
    22K?

    Any help appreciated.

    regards

    kieran

    22kHz disabled
    Low KU = Old Analog

Low KU (10.000 LO = Local Oscillator) = old analog
    Universal = 9.75 and 10.6 L.O. switched by 22kHz
High KU = Telecom LNB 11.6GHz LO I think.

Not sure that you're right there, watty.
I operate a Pace Sky box and a Humax 5400 on a motorised system.
I bring the dish connection in to the Humax and then loop thru to the Pace.
I run the Humax with the Pace on standby and vice versa. In fact, occassionally, I forget to switch off the Pace and start the Humax and all that happens is that the Humax overrides the Pace.

    Depends on:
    1) Implementation of loop. Some only connect if main box is in standby, that will work with a sky digibox, most don't. Humax are a good make, if it works perfectly then On/Standby is giving priority to the Humax. Try a V polarizesed Low band channel on Humax and either H polarity OR > 11.7GHz on Sky box and see if it is still OK.

    2) usually H beats V and 22kHz beats none, in case where the loop is always enabled.

There is a 1 in 4 chance of it working with a Sky box and an always active loop. Much better odds than lottery :)

Well, Well: that's a change, It's the first time odds have ever worked in my favour.
Might even have a shot at the lottery tonight.:D

    Universal setting

    Any settings for Universal:
    Low LO = 9.75
    High LO = 10.6
    Switch = 11.7
    Power on
22KHz either auto (or on) depending on model of receiver

My Skybox worked grand looped through my Manhattan Skyline receiver also - Sky box had LNB control with Skyline off, and Skyline took control when powered up.

Of course though, 2 seperate feeds are much handier so that both boxes will run fully and independantly (essential if the boxes are feeding distribution amp).

Delete all channels and rescan Astra2 /Eurobird @28E

At those quality levels you are on correct satellite

Hi Watty,Thanks for all the help.

Quick question though, even if i scan 2a2b i get the germanchannels like mtv central, premiere etc.

i think i need to move dish fractionally to 28 degrees. Is this to the left or right of where i am looking at the dish?

And do i need to move dish up/down or would axis be the same? How much is 9 degrees?2-3 inches?
I Reset box back to factory settings in case of channel corruption if there is such a thing.....

    regards

    If you're getting MTV Central,etc, you're on Astra 1. 19degrees East.

Astra2/Eurobird is to the right of Astra 1, if you're standing behind the dish. Dish elevation is also a bit lower.

Rights & lefts get messed up..

Astra2/Eurobird is further east, by about 9 degrees.
