I'm getting a little pi**ed of by intermediaries getting in the way when I search for something - say using google. Up pops a site that obviously is itself a trawler and suggest to me the sites that it thinks will fit my requirements, together with pop ups , adds, helpful suggestions , redirections etc.....obviously trying to get me to spend or visit ..........

It's so frustrating to have to put up with these idiots.
Is there any way of filtering these out ? And do they have the sanction of the ISPs or are they just clever site designers who can arrange to be found by google, no matter what the search topic is ....

    Ba**ards

Have you got any anti-spyware programs? Spybot is good, ad-aware, windows defender..try running those and see if it helps to remove some of the problems. What browser are you using?

    Firefox 1.5.0.2 is my browser.
    I've got Adaware , Sptbot S&D , microsoft Spyware, Grisoft AVG .

I'm happy that I'm protected and that it's not that I've been infiltrated, but that out there on the web there are sites that can seem to satisfy your serach criteria, but that they are actually agents hoping to pull comission (maybe?) if thay direct you to a particular site ?

    for instance : http://www.shopireland.ie/featured/Motherboard/

I search for motherboard and find this.............. Who are they ????

Looks like a site with something to do with google. I dont think you have spyware .... its like searching for something on google and an add relating to your search specifics appears on the right of the screen. nothing infected just companies who have paid google for advertising:cool:
