    Hello,

I've been having problems connecting to the following sites over the past while: www.play.com, www.thetrainline.com, www.crucial.co.uk and http://www.avid.com/exchange/forums/

amongst others, anyway, I've done a Spybot scan, adware, virus scan etc and it's not found anything. Also I've tried the links in Firefox and IE, and they still don't work.

It's doing my nut in! oh, the other odd thing is I can Ping the sites from my Router, but This PC, and my other pc can't actually connect, but I can connect via my PDA through the same router!

    Any help greatly appreciated :)

    John

Sounds like a firewall problem - I would imagine you haven't got firewall software running on the PDA, but you must have on the PC's, hence why the PDA can connect.

Do you have any security software such as Norton or McAfee (not anti-virus, but complete security systems). If so, they may be the problem.

Turned the firewall off on both machines and I only run AVG.

I can access lots of sites, this one for example, google etc etc etc.

Are you running any "peer guardian" type software?

Also - can the PC's ping each other. Then see if they can ping the PDA and vice versa.

Ya, peer guardian is great for piece of mind but it makes it quite difficult to maintain a working internet connection :(
