This is the so called religious order that were responsible for inflicting unspeakable horrors on young boys when they ran the children’s prison in Daingean. I think that some investigative journalist should try and trace any of the perverts that are still alive and out them. They should never be allowed any peace.

the original post was a statment that should have had the supporting link in it, so in effect it was just a wild accusation, now that its suported, its truth.

So this guy comes out of the blue, and starts talking about how the kids in this prison were abused...and we've to take his word for it?

I don't know about you people, but I'd call that a wild accusation.

/edit: I should probably point out, that that quote and *cough* in my first post was a nudge towards the recent spat of abuse allegations towards priests. Hence the words: religious order and young boys.

I'm sure if you speak to any former inmate of Daingean (and I have), they'll tell you that is wasn't exactly Butlins. It's common knowledge that Daingean was centre for torturing the youth, run by the religoius orders, and of course the State.

Common knowledge? How many people knew about it? Because I sure didn't. And I'd be pretty confident that if I asked the next 20 people I see if they knew what Daingean was, they wouldn't have a clue either.

It's the same as if I said, "Well it's common knowledge that the PPSh-41 submachine guns were converted by the Germans to fire their 9mm round, whereas the PPS-43 wasn't."
