Right, have everything done, flights paid for, just the student card to get this week.

Quesiton is wrt having a job before ya go.

Seeing as how it halves the amount of cash ya need going, I'm going to get my Uncle to fill out the form for me, then stay with him for a week or so before heading to FL.

Will i be better of if my uncle put down the entire 3 months I'll be stateside as the dates of employment?

Will I need to get a payslip if he fills out the form?

Whats the story then with getting another job? Do I need the new employer to sign the employer form and send it to usit?

How does that work with more than one job at a time?

Sorry for so many quesitons but surely there's someone here who's done the same :)

If you really want to be safe then get your uncle to fill out the form, but more than likely the immigration officer wont evend take any notice of the money requirement. But, if you're planning on only taking over the minimum amount (I think it's about $400 or something along those lines), then you really need to know exactly where you're going to be living and what you're going to be working as before you go over. You'll spend that money on hostels/food/drink/random stuff in a matter of days, and it's not so fun to be homeless and broke in a foreign country.

If you change jobs you just need to resubmit your info to Sevis, ignore the USIT employer agreement form thing. It really causes more hassle than it's worth. Just fill it out for your uncles "job" if you're really determined to bring the min amount of cash, and then after that just keep updating your Sevis info and leave USIT out of it.

    Excellent.

The money is the only reason, I already have a place to stay in FL, just need time to find a nice IT job :)

Do I find out all the Sevis info when I do the orientation in the US ?

Yeah, they'll give you all the sevis information at the orientation. If you're going with USIT, the USIT sponsor, CIEE, will have a website set up so you can make all the changes online. It makes it a lot easier for you.

Just out of curiosity, what part of florida are you going to? I'm going back on a J 1 this summer, not too sure where I want to go to. I was considering a few places and florida was one of them.

Well, herself is near Gainesville, but she's just about got a job in Lake City so I'm gonna stay with her and look in LC for work.

Other thing, do I really need the ISIC card given I already have my insurance and ticket receipts?
