playing .50/1 at the moment and havent played a hand in 2 rounds of the button, playing TIGHT as this is a bit above my paygrade... then, from small blind i make it $4 with AQ and take the pot, then from button i make it $4 again with AQ and take the pot and then from cut off i get AK and make it $4 again and take the pot... but i showed the AK as this was the third hand in a row i'd raised and didnt want my tight table image to change... but thinking back i figure by showing the AK it sends the message that the previous twohands i was weaker and probably just blind stealing.... should i have shown? and equally am i giving .50/1 players to much credit in expecting them to notice this pattern?

Don't bother. You're not going to be bluffing these guys much anyway, and they're not your friends. If you are making a profit from this game most of it will come from getting paid off with your big hands. Let them think you're always speeding if they want.

If you do show cards, I think you want to show a hand that's different to the style you're playing. So if you're playing tight, it's more in your interest to show a rubbish hand. Why, if you're playing tight, do you want to advertise to your opponents a tight image? It's just allowing them to play more correctly against you.
