Im just gonne guess it'll be someone from the Reading lineup on the same day as PJ. That would mean my immediate guesses would be either MCR or Slayer! l just hope not though. Any ideas

I very much doubt it. They take one band on each tour, usually. My Morning Jacket are supporting for the upcoming US tour and Kings Of Leon are supporting the Australian tour in November/December. I would say it could well be either of those.

Kings of Leon wouldnt be too bad. Dont know My Morning Jacket. Better than MCR or Slayer anyway

well whos to say it cant be someone playin a different day at reading/leeds like audioslave or muse perhaps, now that would be deadly. imo the rest of the lineup on pearl jams day for reading is pants

I think so too. Id prefer to see someone else play.Id just doubt Muse would play support when they could sell out a gig of their own.

Are we sure there will be support? I know this might be a stupid question but it's not unheard of for a band not to bother with support for what is essentially a warm-up gig. And they quite clearly weren't too bothered about playing here if all they're doing is a gig in the Point (that's what, 8000 people?) which was announced after they organised all the larger gigs in Europe.

That said, it is starting at 8pm and that would imply at least one support band.

yeah i know it wouldnt make much sense for 2 of the headliners from reading to play at one gig inthe point. i would probably actually prefer muse to have a gig on there own, but it would be nice if there was a good support for pj. now hopefully i can get rid of this seated ticket and really look forward to it whatever happens

If the show wsa to start at 8, and with no support, that would be three hours of Pearl Jam. I wouldnt mind that either. Would be quite very cool if ya ask me

I wouldn't say they're not bothered about playing here. I remember before their last Euro tour they were asked which date they're looking forward to the most and they said they look forward to every date. Also, having seen them a few times, I'd say they're the type of band who wouldn't have a "not bothered" attitude about their gigs.

The Vandals supported them; scroll down to the Dublin gig here:

I'd love to see Audioslave, but it would never happen... if it did they'd HAVE to do some TOTD stuff too, or else.. :D

Must have arrived a bit too late to see them.

Looking at the tour dates, My Morning Jacket and Sonic Youth are both doing a good few gigs.

Ya, so we could hear Cornell absolutely butcher 'Hunger Strike' again!!!!
It would still be savage to see that anyhow!

There was a TOTD reunion at a show in the states last year. And Chris did s few TOTD songs at the gigs I was at in London last year. was very good.

But I can't see a well established group supporting them when they can just do their own show. PJ seem to be all about giving smaller unkown acts a chance to play/tour with them.

They even played before and in between support bands in a gig in Mansfield a few years ago. They did a set, then the 1st support band played, then PJ did another set, then the 2nd support band, then PJ played again. It started early in the day and they played about 50 songs. with a 19 song encore, I think. It was class

It was 28/10/03 when Cornell made the appearance in Santa Barbara.
'Hunger Strike' sounded horrible but 'Reach Down' was ****in nuts!

That gig in Mansfield was the last of three nights at that venue in 2003. (They played on the 2/7 and 3/7 and finished up on the 11/7 with two Camden and two MSG shows in between).
On the first night Vedder declared that they would try to play all of the 105 songs that they had rehearsed for the tour over the 3 nights at the one venue, with no repeats. They ended up playing 97 songs over the 3 nights ('Yellow Ledbetter' was the only repeat, played on the 3/7 and 11/7 'coz the crowd just weren't leaving, and im not including 'One Note'!)
On the 11/7 show they had a 12 song acoustic set before Sleater-Kinney, then came straight on after Sleater-Kinney again. They played a further 21-song set and followed that up with three encores. Altogether, it was a 45-song set, making it the longest Pearl Jam show ever, beating the previous record set at State College on the 3/5/03.
