    Hi,
When I play back DVD's on my widescreen laptop display, Windows Media player gives a border of about 1 inch on each side, is there any way to get it to fill out the whole screen? Is WMP the wrong program to use for DVD playback? I have Media Player Classic too and I can stretch it to window and touch window from in or outside. What's the right setting to choose?

Are you sure you're not watching 1:1.85 films? IE Cinema Scope. Cause they'll have black top and bottom if watching on a 16:9 monitor.

God I love that program... you know you can scale the picture in fullscreen mode by using the arrow-keys on the numeric keypad? (try '6' on the keypad)
Dunno where I'd be without Media Player Classic... a Godsend to 16:10 users :D
