    Hi

I've just installed a TV card in my PC and - separately - I've been running XBMC on my XBOX which can do anything except watch and record TV.

Does anyone know of a way in which I can control the TV card on my PC through the XBMC (or another xbox homebrew)?

    Thanks

    Not many options im afraid.

Either use MCE on your main PC and install the slugguish MCE "extender" software on your XBOX (NTSC only).

Or use MythTV which is linux based on both server and client.

Use MythTV as the man says, then you can control it via the xbox with an XBMC script. You really need a dedicated mythtv machine though.

thats pretty cool. Any resources you can link on this? I bought an XEcuter 2 about a year ago and its still lying on the shelf!

I was thinking of installing linux, and then Myth on the Xbox, but the concept of doing it through XMBC sounds even better.

Haven't done it myself with MythTV, I just play video off a smb share.

    project is here though: http://sourceforge.net/projects/xbmcmythtv/

and if you search through the forums at www.xboxmediacenter.com for mythtv there is lots of info.

XBMC is fantastic, a really polished app at this stage. Have it on 3 xboxes in my house, all playing video off a linux file server.
