Sorry this is a really ignorant post but I heard in passing about some kind of satellite system called "red" or something, can anyone fill me in?

The only "red" I know of is a channel called red panamerican that broadcasts on astra 28 degrees on frequency 12631, v, symbol rate 06111. It is a scrambled channel that cannot be tuned in on a sky digibox.

'Red' is the Spanish word for 'network'. Perhaps it has something to do with that.

There are a lot of adult channels with Red in the title, maybe it was for viewing these........

It can't be tuned on the Sky box due to SR. It is marked scrambled but seems mostly FTA and boring.
