As a wee lad, I always wondered where the contestants who got drenched actually went to dry, did they simply get a towel and a new suit or did they actually go into a big room where there were 138 hairdryers on each wall and blew them dry in seconds. I know it's probably the towel one but you can never doubt a youngn's imagination!

Of course they hardly edited the show together or anything...obviously it was all filmed inside a huge industrial warehouse in docklands London in an hour every friday evening...

I always wonded why at the end of the game they didn't agree a strategy between the lot of em to only collect (thru a process of inspection) a few gold tickets each instead of just blindly grabbing everything that hit them in the face?

Invariably they'd end up getting something like "50 gold and 100 silver" = -50 points.

I used always wonder did Richard O Brien do body-double for Mr Proper...or how the hell he got his head to shine so much.

Its strange the only time ive ever seen people win in that show was once where this group of adults one on some technicality(cant remember exactly but they went into minus figures and reversed it or somthing, i still dont get how to this day) and once where theese teenagers were playing and they got way over the amount of gold needed.

Actually I remember reading that all the wild jumping around and grabbing was just filmed for show. The actual process was a lot more sedate and makes for poor television, so they don't show the real one.

I remember years ago going to a Crystal Maze experience years ago in the UK... I think I even got a T-Shirt.

It always really used to scare me as a kid. Firstly you had richard O'Brien presenting who is scary when you are only 10. Then they used to leave people locked up if they didnt get a crystal in a small room for hours on end until they finished the show.....terrifying stuff.....

Or they'd be used to make the corpses in the Medieval Zone.
