Dusk over Galway

This was an accidental and interesting effect I encountered while importing the photo from raw. I liked it and went with it. I took it just after sunset tonight in Galway, looking toward Newcastle from the Headford Road. It was taken at ISO 1600, f/22, 1/30 shutter speed. The curves I used shows up all the noise in the picture, which is an effect I like here.

I cropped it down a little and cloned out some car headlights from the bottom, but its otherwise unaltered after I imported it. Flame it:

I kinda like it :) However, there seem to be black spots in the blueish sky... is that sensor dust?

Oh and the vignetting effect at the borders works very well on this shot, maybe intentional, maybe not, but I like it!

The noise makes it look oddly cool, peachy colour is strange for such a cool sky.

That's how it was when I took it. Aye, its dust on sensor, but like I said, I think in this photo it just adds to the image.

I like it. It makes me think of people out on an investigation (for what, I don't know) with a video camera a hip height. Maybe that's just me...

I definately like this effect. It works well on photos with a strong contrast (skies, some wide-aperature shots). Here's Menlo castle in Galway:
