Ok so Ive eircom broadband in the house, and Ive two PC's, one for recording and one for the family so to speak. Now the recording Pc is on the top flight of a 4 story house, and the other is on the bottom floor.

So what I need to know is, can I buy a second router and use them at the same time? i.e. when the downstairs PC is using it can I also use it up-stairs?

Or will one knock the other off the line?

Better to post this in Broadband or Wireless forum but that not withstanding, just make sure the 2nd router is not trying to do broadband authentication, DHCP, NAT etc and you'll be grand. Will you be using wired or wireless link to connect the two routers? You could just get a wireless modem/router and add a wireless card to the upstairs pc and then you're sorted. Any probs setting this up then give us a shout over in Wireless or Broadband.

Oh and having two BB modems on the same line trying to use the signal at the same time just won;t work. AFAIK

i was thinking that, but I guessed some hardware would be mentioned so I picked here.

I think i'll go the wireless opition.

anyways I've doubled posted this topic so if the mods could maybe delete this? and move it if they fancy?
