Excellent composition, excellent exposure and excellent conversion. Oh and excellent weather. Even the dreaded copyright doesn't interfere.

Hope I'm not being too harsh ;)

;) thanks for being nice!!! I hate the copyright too, but was sick of my shots turning up in unexpected places... i try to keep it as inobtrusive as poss, and only put it on some shots. Thanks for feedback Valentia, appreciate it.

Nice, did you use any filters on the lens? Was there a hood on the lens? I like the gradient effect.

Don't be afraid to post more pics!

Yeah it was just an accidental gradient effect, that people think is PS'ed, bu au natural!

No there was no hood on the lens, and the only filter I used was a skylight.

Looks like it would be nice in colour, as long as the windmill is not a dirty white.

Unfortunately putting a copyright on your pics ia a waste of time. It wouldn't take a few seconds to remove it so anyone that wants to rob them will still do so.

I do like this. It's very similar to one I've got from a windmill in Holland (where else...?). Anyway, I like the starkness of the white walls and the dark sky. I like the shape of the windows and the shadow pattern cast on the wall. But I have a question - did you tilt upwards so that you would block out something annoying at ground level? It feels slightly cut off at the bottom, and has some extra space at the top so it feels slightly unbalanced when I look at it.

It really suits the black and white though. I'd put it on my wall...

The B&W one is much nicer than the colour. Love the shadow from the blade and the way it wraps around the actual building. Also love the gradient effect it turns out better in the B&W version but still nice in the colour one.

Anyways time for some removal of copywrite and passing it off as my own work:P

Yeah there is scaffolding around the base of the windmill, too much for my photoshopping skills to remove, so I tilted up instead, thought a different angle might make it more interesting but this was the widest I could get the shot with my lens, I was disappointed with that myself, would have like more windmill. Although I did think afterwards, the more I looked at it that the lack of balance makes it just a bit different as well.

It is definitely better than a straight on shot, you're right. It's just disappointing that you had to cut a window in half. If it's nearby hopefully you can wait for the scaffolding to come off and go back :)
