Hi I was wondering if anyone has seen or heard of any good deals for a pc around the 750euro mark.

About 6 months ago my sister got a AMD64 3200, 200gb HDD, 512mb Ram, 17in LCD etc, from PC World.

They don't have any deals as good anymore...

    Any ideas lads?

Looking at Marx Computers, their pcs start at €375 without a monitor I think. Thats where I used to shop anyway.

Dell also have on going deals if you want something that you probably wont be able to upgrade that much later on.

I think Komplett, which a great deal of the forum users here, their office type pcs start at around €500.

I think for €900 you should build your own PC!

    Check out here for ideas.

Well, for 750 you probably aren't going to get much of a machine for gaming.

Do you have the ability to build yourself? Or do you know somoene who can assemble?

If so I'd reccommend this mainboard and an IDE Maxtor HD from this range

The mobo I pointed out is a Socket 939 (the latest AMD system) is cheap as hell, has both LAN and Sound onboard saving you heaps of money, and avoids some of the problems with Maxtor hard drives and Soundblaster cards that nForce 4 based boards can have.

It also allows for huge amounts of future expansion, so if you want to kit out your rig with internal flash card readers, PCI cards etc this one will probably take whatever you can throw at it.

Some great machines at great prices with lots of room to configure. No O.S. installed but acquiring XP ain't exactly difficult.

    For example for €759

bit of re-jigging option 1 you can get

    P4 3.0GHz 530 Processor
    1GB DDR RAM
    120GB 7200rpm Hard Disk
ATI Radeon 9550 256mb Graphics card
    16x DVD +/- RW Drive
    56K internal Modem
    10/100 Mbps Network card
    Creative 5.1 surround
    Keyboard/mouse
    1 year warranty
    17" TFT Flat screen

That'd easily run any and all current games or programs no bother, If you're not using it for gaming you can drop the graphics card down a notch. There's AMD systems that can be configured too and you can up that one even.

buy the parts seperate from komplett.ie or at the most a bundle with mobo & ram, don't settle for less than a 3700 athlon with the 1mb cache, future proof yourself. you will build a beutifully spect monster if you go down that road, remember all those pre built machines are more costly as someone else built it for you, & you never know if ur getting brand new hardware.
