    10/20 6-max 3-handed
Villain is This_is_4_DV, who is a laggy type dude. He has raised the last 2 pots preflop, and raised 4 of the last 6. He is active.
    He also has 9k
I have 2k and have only recently sat down

    Preflop
I open to 70 on the button with 8dTs, sb folds, villain calls in the BB.

    Flop (150)
    8 4 4r
check, I bet 90. Villain just calls

    Turn (330)
Jd, putting a 2nd diamond on board
Villain leads for 255, I call

    River (840)
    3s
Villain shoves .... action on you.

    Comments on play thus far.

if you thought you were ahead on the turn then the river makes no difference to the hand. did you call the turn hoping for a bluff ?

I would prob fold this on the river as if he has raised 4 out of last 6 then this range is impossible to guess. obviously with his stack he could be just bullying the table ,but i think I'd wait for a better spot.

    I would fold the river.

He just calls the bet and immediately begts about 3/4 of the pot on the turn, that has alarm bells ringing for me. To me this suggests that he has a 4 and the 2nd diamond maybe has scared him or that he has 99/TT and overcard has worried him but he probably puts you on the 8 so decided it was good time to shove. An overpair such as QQ is a possibility but he would have probably raised pre-flop with that. I can't see what you could be beating here other then a bluff and as he has been quite aggressive then there is a chance he could be bullying you but I wouldn't risk it so it's a fold for me on river and probably on the turn.

But I wouldn't dream at playing at these levels yet so what would I know.

I assume the turn call was you assumed he had nothing or d fd (which i think is very possible)
if thats the case you should call i would only be worried about possibly being outkicked on my 8

That applies to most of us on this forum cooker, but it doesn't stop us pretending that we know :)

Ok - well I bet 90 on the flop because I felt that this was the kind of flop that this villain would try to move a TAG off of, and I wanted him to try. He called and then fired at a strange turn (the J). So either he was calling with some weird Jx hand, or he is bluffing. I called because I really thought he would try to move at me on this board.

The river changed nothing, and he shoved. I felt that he knew that I likely had a 1-pair hand, and would try to move me off of it. So I gritted my teeth and called.

    Villain had Ad6d, and MHIG.
