Looking for a system to deal with CAD/CAM apps involving some heavy number crunching. Gaming performance is not of primary performance.

I am now leaning to the Pentium 950 having thought about an AMD X2 4400+ which is €150 more expensive! How is the pentium for Ocing bearing in mind that I have never overclocked before?

What would you go for for a mainboard to accompany the Pentium D from these-
    ABIT LG-81,
    ABIT AL8-V,
    ABIT AW8, I955X
    ABIT AL8-3rd Eye II,
    EPoX EP-5LDA+ GLi,
    MSI 945GM2-FI,

    The differences are subtle yes?

    Memory-
    Corsair Value S. PC5300 DDR2 2048MB

    Graphics-
    Sapphire Radeon X300SE 128MB DDR

    HDD-
    Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 250GB

    Any thoughts?

If youve never overclocked before then dont , at least not without some serious research , you'll only toast the machine.

That X300 may well struggle if your using CAD , what package are you gonna use , if its anything like autocad then you need a way better card than that. Most CAD packages I have seen would strangle that card.

The rest of the components look OK to me.
