Sick sick sick of Nero, it's brutal!

The program is driving me nuts, it just won't burn a selection of wav files without gaps. I've tried everything and all combinations and even when it does finally burn and says the project is done etc, the cd doesn't work in my pc or stereo. I can do exactly what I want with Realplayer of all things but that won't write CD text and it's a bit of a pain to use as I can't save the burning project (which is helpful as I'll be burning alot of cds). I've wasted so many cds now it's starting to cost me money.

    Worst program ever!

Before anyone starts suggesting remedies it's ok I genuinely have tried everything and I'm so sick of it that I'm just looking for a good program to replace it forever. Has anyone got any recommendations apart from Roxio as I have that and it's also pants.

I've used a program called CD Burner XP Pro before, I think it's free and will probably do what you want.

You might want to ignore this next bit:
As for Nero, I've never had a problem writing audio CDs with no pause between songs. Select all songs, right click and select properties, set the pause to 0 seconds, or use a cross-fade. Never had a problem with this, perhaps your CD writer isn't very good.

Is that free or what Sico? If it's not free I'm sure I can manage something.;)

I've used all mentioned above and am currently using "Burn4Free" Check Google for it-its free but it does install a browser toolbar but I find it pretty feature rich and has worked for me doing data and audio CD's and data DVD's as well.

5.something right now but I've tried 5 and 7 and I just hate the program at this stage. So much stupid extra crap when all I wanna do is burn some cds the way I want them to be burnt.

I'm done with Nero, that's it. I hate it with a vengeance.

version 6.3 ... is actually quite stable , the basic oem suite that marxcomputers sell for a tenner doesn't installl too much video related stuff either so work well for audio

    roxio is terrible I agree

Haven't used anything other than the cut down sonic excuse dell put on their machines else so can't comment

presume the audio resolution of the wavs are just straight cd rips

the older nero used to have a crossfade setting also , setting to zero for each track etc obtained the zero gap

I never had a problem with Nero ever, i love it!

Sonic is nice and handy though but haven't had much experience

As for Roxio i hate that program so much. the net cafe i work in has it on all computers, the Drag to Disk is the most stupid thing i have ever found so many complaints and ****ed disks

burn in hell roxio burn in hell

What make of blank CD are you using? I've found that some CD makes won't work on car stereo's, and that if you burn them at the fastest speed possible, they won't be read by the stereo, so I burn them @ 2 speed.

Also, sometimes if you have a dodgy CD burner, CD's won't be read in the PC, after you burn them. Try burning a data CD, and see if your PC can read it. If not, its your CD burner.

And no, I don't care if its brand new, sh|t happens.

Using version 7 and its pretty good I have to say. Did use version 6 but then started to get these crazy admin rights messages even when i was admin. Tried using the nero admin tool but never bloody worked so i switched to v 7

For anyone using Nero I would like to point out it HATES other buring roms.

I had 3 installed on my mchine, of course Nero wouldn't work. Uninstalled one of the others and everything was fine.

This usually happens when you have too many progs like DVD Decrypter or somefink which I know it hates.
