i've got it and need help removing it.
i followed the instructions on this page but i still can't remove the tftp entry from the system32 folder.

i also have a registery key called cmdservice. adaware and spybot recognise it, but they can't remove it.

i'm getting pop-ups every 3 or 4 minutes and my pc is running slower than a snail (sorry. that was the best analogy i could think of).

any help would be greatly appreciated.

i don't want anyone coming on here and telling me that there isa another page about this somewhere else. i can't use the search for some reason that i believe is related to the virus.

i have no idea where i got the virus. the link above says it comes from p2p programmes, but i have never used kazaa, haven't used soulseek in months and it doesn't say anything about bittorrents.
it does mention something about various websites, so i can only assume that it has been sitting idle in my pc for the last few months, ever since i clicked on one of those dodgy links. you know the ones. "i'm going to kill myself. i wrote about it here" and then you click the link and it takes you to a page and you get loads of pop-ups and stuff.
i was with eircom when i clicked on one of those links and can only guess that their firewall prevented the virus from taking hold. i changed over to irish broadband last saturday and as soon as i connected to the net, the virus kicked in. anyway, i'm off to feedback to bitch and moan some more about those dodgy links.
please help me with the virus. i will be forever in your debt.

Your plugged directly into the ibb bridge box and that puts ur machine direcly on the internet. The worms and crap wrang you looking for old security holes. They didnt ring out (at first but i bet they are now)

For your sake get a router anything that does NAT until then a software firewall will have 2 do

Your pc will need a serious amount of TLC as its probably not up to patch level and on XPSP1.

This means its open to everything and would be best to re-install while not connected to the net. Put a software firewall on (xpsp2 a must and has said firewall). Then allow only MS update traffic and plug it back in.

    After all updated

Then allow only the traffic u need like port 80.

Odds are ur absolutely riddled with crap by now

For a good stream of tea ill fix it.
PM me for a contact NO.
