I got an offer for the AIB grad program (in the IT Dept) last week and the money is less than i taught, €25,500 . Now some people here in college say that they were offering €27,000ish last year for IT Grads. Did anyone else here get an offer or know what they are offering other people?

Congrats on your job offer, but 25k does seem abit low to start off with.i would think apply in other places and see what they offer.

well €25,500 is at the lower end of the IT grads pay scale but the perks are very good which bring it up to about €30,000 with about 8% stock options in the second year + a few other bits and pieces.I was expecting about the €27,000-28,000 mark

I've gotten two different offers for graduate IT jobs and both of them are paying 25K. a bit low for my liking...

end of the day.the 1st year is going to be low but then if you peform well you will gain the benifit in the long run.i think you should take the job even at 25k as then you can work you way up.

Well i think ill take it unless i get anything better. I have been offered another job at €26,000 as a technical consultant but they are not running their graduate program now till later in their year or early next year (which isn’t a good sign for the company). I also have a very good chance of getting another job down in Limerick at €26,000 but its not really what i want.

Have an interview with TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) tomorrow ill see what they offer, but i know Acenture offer €29,000 and Microsoft is just over €30,000. I assumed AIB would offer similar as they were a big bank, but their interview process was quite easy compared to the other ones I have had, you could get a job with them without knowing much about IT, they are also only looking for grads with a 2.2Min. Everyone else has a 2.1 or even a 1.1 minimum

irishguy, was that offer the definite final offer? Or did it say circa that salary. I ask this because different grads, including IT grads, not just IT vs. Business ones come in on different salaries depending on various things. If it looked like it was just the general letter that went out to all the succesful applicants I woulnd't pay too much attention to the figure until you get your actual contract. That letter will just state the MIN figure. pm me if you want more details.

Don't just consider first year salaries. Look at future salary rates etc.

They may pay 1 or 2k less but how much less do they pay in 2 years time

gonementhol, has told me the figures and they actually pay a good bit more than most other IT graduate programs, i didnt read the offer properly. So if anyone else from AIB is listening in i am very glad to take the job and i think AIB is a great company :D
