I have an Epiphone G-400 SG guitar and was thinking about maybe adding a whammy bar, but there is no hole to put the bar there. Please tell me if you know what I need to buy in order to add a whammy bar.

    Thanks

ud need one of those big bigsby type whammy bars u see on some Sg's but thats the only type you'd get in there a strat style trem or a floyd rose type trem wont work

just get a gutiar with a whammy bar

And if you actually want to be in tune after you use it you should investigate Kahler bridges. You'll need to do a bit of routing but it is minimal and you get to use your trem and stay in tune too :D

On a similar subject, would it be possible to put a bigsby onto my Sheraton?

no more than any other guitar with a bigsby and ToM bridge...

a lot of gretsches have that setup. as long as there's no burrs on the saddles and you don't go overboard it's not a problem, i mean strings move over the saddles when you bend a note.
