Dell Inspiron 9100 Laptop Problem

    Hi All.

    Have a 2 yo Inspiron. Up to now no problems. Dropped it on floor recently.!!:mad:

    Starts up ok, but can only see faint display.

    Any suggestions. Is there a light in the screen that needs replacing ?

    strange you are getting any display at all if it is the bulb,
    still though i would first check the graphic settings see if you can raise gamma / brightness /contrast on your video and if that doesnt work
    the 9100 is the first dell laptop with changeable graphics cards so it could be worth opening it up and reseating it ,

    have the same laptop and she is a class system .

    card is under the keyboard and a bit of a pain to get to , think i have my original 9700 knocking around somewhere(upgraded to 9800 pro) so if needed (and i can find it) its yours
