I would appreciate it if anyone could tell me the situation in relation to vat and takings for a card club. The revenue site states that vat of 21% apply to card clubs and 13.5% to sporting clubs. I assume this is the reason so many card clubs/casino's include sporting club in there name. However does anyone know if these clubs are actually paying vat on there full takings. Im pretty sure amusement arcades (don’t) and bookmakers have a 2 or 3% levy and feel that the the arguement can be made that clubs fall under a similar realm
