They are a monopoly. They don't have to be nice to you. So don't expect them to be.

Whoever answers the phone, introduce yourself then ask for their name. It should perk them up a bit. Then at least you have a name so if you have to call back you can ask for a particular person if you still have a problem or if you need to make a complaint
