Because he was "the only person in the room professional enough to carry the weapon." How dare you question his judgment! I hate to say this, but some of the unsafest people I know, in terms of gun handling, are cops.

The one thing about the video though is that his stupidity with the gun probably actually would have scared the kids about guns. When whoever it was lifted the ak up, everyone started complaining, and told her to put it down, and some people even left. He probably had more of an effect than if he hadn't shot himself.

LOL!Even the kids were clever enough to realise he was dangerous!Ah,sweet irony!!

Saw an interview with this unfortunate guy while I was in the States last week. The incident happened about 18 months ago and the only people who had a copy of the tape were the DEA investigators. In the last couple of months a copy of the tape popped up online.

Apparently this guy has worked long term undercover cases and has, since being outed as a cop in this tape, received numerous death threats against himself and his family!! Talk about a bad run of things...
