Irish Gumball

Its the first I heard of it tbh. I'd be the first one on for it but I don't think it would be much fun in Ireland. Firstly the Gardai would like to make an example of everyone involved and would more than likely haunt the event. Secondly, the roads for the most of the country are s***e and you'd wreck a performance car on them and I don't think 48 hours is long enough. Anyway the whole idea is to head across the a Continent and finish in an exotic location, I don't know of any exotic locations in Ireland and no doubt it will probably rain.:(

This obviously wasn't very well thought out. In the present climate in ireland of ever increasing road deaths, a gumball rally would only serve to draw further negative light on motoring. 50 cars allowed, at 3000 euro, I'm sure they would be tailed by every show off in a car that thinks they can out do the competitors, but can't afford to pay the fee.

Makes more sense to do this kinda thing in a country other than your own.

very crap idea for ireland.the roads are crap and this event in ireland is a danger.whereas in europe its open roads.
i would think this is a better and cheaper option.
    http://www.destinationnurburgring.com/
i have ordered the info pack and should recieve it soon.

its way cheaper and more fun.so far for the next event theres 10 cars fully paid from dublin and 40 people on the interest list as i was talking to the guy runing it.

poor cash in on a very nice idea. everything is smaller and less well thought out when compared to gumball. Narrow minded rip-off on the franchise, 3000 e to drive around ireland ffs? no thanks.

IMO that is a stupid idea, and for 3k... no way

www.studentgumballrally.com tbh. 155 sterling entry fee, and at the end of it you end up in CROATIA!

Oh, and you DONT have to be a student, I have friends that signed up that never saw the inside of a uni/IT ... I think they did that to enfore the 2ltr/no sports car rule

If anyone is really interested there is a crowd in the uk do one that looks alot more interesting.

London, Monaco,Rome, Modena(includes factory tour),Innesbrook, St Moritz, Cologne and a spin about the Nurburgring all for £2900stg for two people over 6 days including ferries, top hotels city tours and a few lunches.

If the price of petrol ever drops I may consider it a route for a holiday at a more reasonable pace!

    www.circuit-days.co.uk link for Euro Enduro

Although I could convince the gf to come on the detination nurburgring one, it metions an afternon shopping :D

Ridiculous, the sun has to be shining, the girls have to be tall, the champagne flowing freely, the chips plentyful (thats casino chips not O'Briens Fries) and the cars at least V8s.

Here it would be foggy and everyone stuck behind a flat bed carrying hay.

€3K to drive around home!!!! :D Nope! And only if yer mota is exclusive enough! yaaaa Riiightttt
Nice idea, but with roads like this..It's an adventure daily just driving around...

I think a 4x4 adventure would be more of a success here tbh, crap roads, s***e weather and get chased by the cops at every turn. The Camel Trophy looks like a walk in the park by comparison.:D

I could drive around Ireland just myself & the gf, eat in top resturants and sleep in top hotels... and id still have plenty change left over from 3k

At that price sure I might set up my own Irish Gumball rally :D
