how do i delete an os

    I have two installiations of xp....one pro and one home.....every time i log on to my computer i'm asked to pick between them....a pain in the ass...so how do i get rid of one of them and just run with the other ?

    Well a clean reinstall would be the handiest, You could also just delete the windows folder that belongs to the one you want to delete, but It will still appear in the boot loader.

    I would reinstall......

    Reinstall would be cleaner. I think you can also uninstall windows by inserting the CD belonging to the version which you want to remove.

    use partition magic to format the partition you want to get rid off and then boot up your windows install cd, go into recovery console and typr fixmbr and fixboot

    the best way is a clean install but if you dont have the time then uninstall the windows folder and the then run msconfig and then press on the BOOT.INI and press the check all boot paths and this will delete the path of the Os which windows folder you have just deleted ..so it wont ask you which windows OS that you want to boot from cos there is only be one .. and then run a defrag to tidy things up a bit .but as the lads said your better of just format and reinstall windows it only takes an hour or so inculing chipset driver and so on . and your system will be the better from it..
