    You slam the fridge
    The sugar-window shakes
    Then the front door clicks

    Is this all there is?

    As I lay tucked inside
    A falsely darkened room
    You are busy trying to eat your way out
    Of this gingerbread cage

    Starving and abandoned
    By each other's casual scraps
    Of thoughtlessness
    The forest is now a refuge
    For us both

    Crumbles of dreams
    And what-ifs
    Leaving a trail from the bed to the door

    I like it, very sad...but I like it. Imagery is excellent to my untrained eye and mind, it resonates with me.
