    In the 2:40.....................

I think Ikitaf to be placed @ 3.4 is incredible value (and 8.6 to win is fair too)
Also, At 2.16 Straw bear is a defintie low risk lay for me here. Yes, he has McCoy on board, who is sure to get the most from him, I also realise he has great form, BUT all of them recent wins and places were on good to soft or soft, and it looks like the going will be good tomorrow. Also, the trainer, Gifford is unproven. I think 2.16 is way too short, and even if it does win, it wont break the bank. While Ikitaf also likes the ground to be a bit softer, he has Ruby Walsh on board, who is boasting both a great punchestown record (20%) and a very healthy overall record. Noel meade is about the best trainer out of the rest of them here too. The big threat is the other Meade horse Sweet Wake, with Carberry on board. but I have my doubts about him. I was watching his last few runs, including Cheltenham, and while Carberry tried to get the best out of him, I don't think he has what it takes here.

    Selections:

    Back Ikitaf to be placed

    Lay Straw bear

Not too sure about tomorrow but Wednesday I fancy taking on WOA to get beaten. Beef or Salmon could reverse form there I think if it stays on its feet. very poor odds for all horses at the moment.

2.40 SweetWake. Is regarded very highly by N.Meade and was slightly dissappointing at Cheltenham. However if hes as good as hes thought of by his trainer i think he will produce the goods tomorrow.

3.15 NewMill I dont think FotaIsland will be able to reverse Cheltenham placings with this one. This is my bet of the day, this horse was such an easy winner at Cheltenham and probably had alot more in the tank. Has everything going for him.

3.50 Back In Front. Our Ben looked a very tired horse in the national and is readily passed over. Nickname has never been tried on good ground so is risky betting proposotion tomorrow. Leaves me with Missed That as the competition to the selection, carrying topweight on lively ground will surely find him out and he must also put last run behind him.

I would probably favour Fota Island in the 3:15 and I consider sir OJ(16/1) more of a threat than Newmill. It will be Interesting to see how Paul Carberry runs after his recent injury and if he wins on Sweet wake I would say Sir OJ has a great E/W chance.I also like the look of Iktitaf. PC has saddled him in his last few runs and Ruby is on him tomorrow and he will go off at about 6/1.

No time to post detailed selections.

    2.40 Sweet Wake NB
    3.15 Fota Island NAP
    3.50 Nickname
    4.25 Carthalawn win Joueur D'Estruval e/w

I wouldn't rate Sir OJ in the 3.15, I've backed it enough and been let down enough. Fota Island is another one who seems to favour coming second against top opposition. It will be exciting to see (altho prob wont get to) if Newmills Chelt win was an amzing fluke, but I wouldn't be overly confident. I wouldn't bet...

In the 2.40 I'd be willing to take on Straw Bear with Sweet Wake. Even though SW let down at Chelt. he wasn't used to such big fields, he was a bit nervous, and he didn't shame himself. I'd like to think he'll win tomorrow.

In the 3.50 I think I'll go for Nickname EW (altho only pays 2 places) if a price is available. Although yet to race on good ground who's to say it won't love it :D:D

STRAW BEAR IS A GREAT BET TOMOROW. HE NEVER DISSAPOINTS. DEFINATLY MY NAP.

i reckon it will be a good day for the punters.

    2:40 - straw bear - NAP
    3:15 - fota island - NB
    3:50 - back in front

    these three have super chances,

im going to do a double with straw bear and fota island and a treble with back in front aswell

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Sublimity in the 2:40, he was the best of these on the flat and will relish the drying ground. He was more than a bit unlucky in the Supreme Novices when being badly hampered at a crucial point and still managed to finish ahead of Sweet Wake.

At 3:15 it's very difficult to oppose Newmill, the small field should play even more to his advantage than in the Champion Chase as he'll be able to dominate from the front, the only slight concern is that he's hasn't really fired on his previous efforts at this course.

Back In Front looks like the bet of the day at 3:50, there are major doubts about the opposition. The ground is too quick for Nickname, the distance and the fact that he looks to have gone off the boil would put me off Our Ben and I've never really been convinced by Missed That, especially since he has to give weight away today.

    .

I agree with this. Straw bear is no value and Sweet Wake was sick at Chelt so could need this run. Great value on Sublimity.

    Back to Win
    Seewt Wake (NAP)
    Central House 13/2 Coral
    Our Ben 6/1 Coral (NB)

    Lays
    Laureldean 5.35pm Punch
    Commonchero 5.35pm Punch
Back In Front 7/4 3.50pm Punch
    Missed That 5/1 3.50pm Punch
Arctic Times 3/1 2.05pm Punch?? Dodgy Enough
    Sublimity 11/2 2.40pm Punch
    Straw BEAR 5/4 2.40pm Punch

    Good Luck to all

STRAW BEAR IS A GREAT BET TOMOROW. HE NEVER DISSAPOINTS. DEFINATLY MY NAP.

I backed Straw Bear for Cheltenham and was disappointed when it was beat on the line, it did however win superbly at Aintree. I am not going with Straw Bear today because I don't think the ground will suit it. If the going was soft or good to soft I'd be reconsidering. If you're going to be backing the three of your selections you might as well just do a trixie. It's 4 bets, 3 doubles and a treble. So a 4 euro trixie is 16 euro.

    My Selections:

    2:40 Straw Bear
    3.15 Newmill
    3.50 Our Ben
    4.25 Naples e/w

if i did a trixie for 4 euro like you said i would only win 145 euro but if i did a ten euro treble which would cost less then i would win 165 euro.

    7/4
    2/1

    Punchestown

240 Strawbear > quality horse ground might be a worry, but good enough to do it (NAP)

315 Fota Island (NB) consistently at the sharp end, could make extra to win it, I would lay Newmill think hes goin to be found out today.

425 Naples WIN very interesting horse should figure at the business end
other interesting one Kheetam E/W +could well win it

535 Lakli Princess quality could win this, pity about change of normal jock.

Wolves 420 Mount Royale kim onboard looks most likely in this field WIN

hope that lot helps, some interesting races on today :)

Ikitaf wins @ 8/1, and Straw bear loses. Both bets sucessful

He's really starting to look the horse he had the potential to be as a novice, I remember having a fairly big ante-post bet on him for the Supreme Novices a few years back only for connections to decide against running. I wasn't going to back him today but when he hit 6/4 on Betfair I couldn't resist.

Irish Daily Star gave first four winners in
Punchestown. There NAP is Khetaam in
    the next good.

    Should go well.

    Trainer: N Meade
    jockey: P Carberry.

wow.. just realised that it actually came in 3rd.. great stuff!

i was following the in-running betting at betfair where there was no support for the horse whatsoever so i just assumed that it never got into the race..

nice surprise to see it come in, almost threw my bet away :)

Good man, today's result is why it's good to take note and follow horses. Like yourself, I've been following D'Estruval for a while. Was robbed by a place last time out by it's stablemate Adamant Approach, would have been some reverse forecast today  I'm also on Lakil Princess, just in a lucky 15 though.

No problem. It's amazing the horse came 3rd after one of the most truly shocking rides I've seen, the jockey had the horse that wide he must have lost at least 5 lengths on each bend. He was then asleep as the front 2 crept clear and it only occurred to him to go after them when it was too late.

I was doing the same, couldn't believe when I checked Sporting Life to see that it had placed. Was very surprised, usually Betfair is pretty accurate as to where horses are in the race!! Cheers masterK
