    Hi Photography buffs et al,

I appreciate a nice picture as much as the next person, but I don't
    know much about cameras/film/lenses.

I would love to get a old 35mm SLR camera and general purpose lense on
the cheap (being the lowly pauper that I am).

Could anyone advise on the price for a second hand setup such as this on the
    lower end of the scale.

Gunns on wexford st. seems to come highly recommended so I might try there (do they sell second hand kit?)

    Say Cheese! :D

gunns is the best place to go. don't spend more than €100 if it's an old manual camera or if you get an old canon eos system, you can then use the lenses should you ever upgrade to a digital SLR

don't spend much until you know what kind of lenses you really want and then spend money on getting lenses that will last for years

You'll pick up an old completly manual SLR for cheap enough, it'll come with a 50mm lens, which is great for learning too.

    Good advice :)
