From NUIG grounds up past the bridge. I certainly looked a sight, crawling all over the green. Regardless, I had fun capturing them! Nine in total, the flowers are self-explanatory, but as to the tags on trees all of the trees in the grounds are individlally tagged, probably as part of forest management. It would make an interesting project to go around and photograph a good few of them as each tree is individual as you can see in those shots.

Come the next nice day, I will be back. I didn't use any special gear for these photos, just the 18-55mm lens that came with my 350D. Settings were aperature priority, f/3.5, ISO 100.

I really like the second one, the grass looks great. The colour in tree 3328 is really good too. They're all very nice, and really good considering the kit lens.
Did u do much processing in Photoshop?

Fionn: Did you check your hosts/adblock files? Are you posting from work through a proxy that filters Flickr or large images?

Jools and Captain: I crawled up really close to them, to get the photos. I kept the zoom at 55mm as it gave me more control over focus and I moved back and forth a little until I got focus just how I wanted it. As for the trees, the camera was on its tripod then and as close to each tree as I could get it.

As for processing, I imported them with ufraw, where I tweaked the gamma/linearity settings to bring out the details of the subject (bright day). I kept colour settings "as-is," except for the dandelion photo, where I reduced the temperature a little, and then altered curves a little bit to reduce glare. I scaled the photos down in the Gimp, straightened the dandelion photo and added a vignette effect to several photos with gradients and layer masks, again to emphasis the subject.

Two more photos for those who might've been traumatised by the spelling in my last post:

I like the bark ones best though I like the saturation and feel of them all. The pp works well too, though there are probably a few here who would frown on that side if it.;)
