    Hi all..
    I have just bought a new external case for a 3.5" Hard Drive. I have fitted the new Hard Drive and am trying to connect through the usb2.0 connection. It picks up the device in the safety remove hardware but i cannot see it in "My Computer" section. I am running XP Pro and have tried different PC with same result.. cHANGED hARD dRIVE AND SO ON . iS THERE ANY SETTING I NEED TO CHANGE.....:confused:

    Have you formatted the drive and setup partitions? ?)

    No .. I have not formatted the new Drive , But i put in one that i am using from an easy ide connection and its the same problem with that... I cant see the Drive in "My Computer" section to format it...

    What you need to to do the following

    Go to Control panel/Admin Tools/ Computer Management/disk management

    Then right click on the drive to format.

    Then you will see it in MY Computer

    No problem,

    I forgot to tell you may need to right click again and set the primary partition for the drive to be seen in my computer.

    Tell me if this works.
