EPG for NTL Basic

    Hi

    I've just installed a Hauppage WinTV PVR150 into an XP PRo box (not MCE). I'm looking for a (preferably free) irish EPG. I've heard that the MCE 2005 has one - but since I don't have that it's no use to me. Has anyone found another option?

    Cheers

    I'm setting up my system at the moment using GBPVR and XMLTV GUI.

    GBPVR
    XMLTV GUI

    Both pieces of software are free. XMLTV can be configured to pull the schedules from the Radio Times website. The only channel it won't have is the new Channel Six.

    I use a radiotimes.co.uk feed as well for my mythtv box. Like Talisman says, it has everything but channel 6. Hopefully they'll add that soon - I don't channel surf anymore so unless it gets added to my EPG I may as well not have it :)

    It also won't have Setanta. At least it doesn't for me anyway.

    I've partially sorted the issue of the missing channels.

    TVxb is a customisable listings grabber. Apparently it's possible to import the xml file created by XMLTV and append the xml for the missing channels - I haven't tried to do that yet, but I have been able to generate the xml for Channel 6.

    Addition for the tvxb.ini file to process the Channel 6 listings:

    [channel6.ie]
    name=Channel 6
    url=http://www.channel6.ie/listings/listings.php?date=[day=yy-mm-dd]
    tagtr=start=<li,end=</li
    tagtd=start=<li,<h1,<h2,<p,end=</li,</h1.</h2,</p
    htmlstart=<ul>
    htmlend=</ul
    special=ignoreptag
    start=1
    title=2
    description=4

    Here's my effort to grab the Setanta Sports listings. I haven't got it working yet because I haven't been able to get TVxb to handle the setanta.com website cookie. I've followed the instructions from the pdf file but it's not working for me for some reason.

    [SetantaSports]
    name=Setanta Sports
    url=http://www.setanta.com/portal/systemcontent/tvschedule?open&action=&dateadjust=[relseq=0,1,2,3,4,5,6]&amp;
    special=ignorebrtag
    start=2
    title=5
    description=6

    Edit: added the "special=ignorebrtag" to the SetantaSports section to handle the different format of Live Events listings.

    I got the setanta.com cookie working. :D

    The problem was that there was a www.setanta.com cookie which I hadn't copied to the cookies.txt file. I had only added the setanta.com cookies which don't appear to be required.

    Here's the all important line for the cookies.txt file.
    www.setanta.com	TRUE	/	FALSE	1177909143	UserRegion	ie

    That's excellent. Thanks for that. It was straight forward to add in an existing xmltv file - just add the import line. (xmltvimport=where ever)

    Is there anyway to get the full 2 weeks listing from Setanta? I can only get up to next Wednesday so far. Adding up to 12 in the relseq didn't help.

    Setanta's tv schedule listing starts on a Sunday and runs for two weeks so if you update on a Sunday you should be able to grab all the listings for two weeks. I only added the 0-6 sequence because the Channel 6 listings were only available for a week in advance, incidently they have changed their website again so the Channel 6 segment is no longer valid.

    Here's the updated Channel 6 segment. There's no program descriptions in the new layout unfortunately, but hopefully they'll correct that the next time they change the site.

    [channel6.ie]
    name=Channel 6
    url=http://www.channel6.ie/listings.whtm?date=[day=yy-mm-dd]
    tagtr=start=<li,end=</li
    tagtd=start=<li,<h1,<h2,<p,end=</li,</h1.</h2,</p
    htmlstart=<ul>
    htmlend=</ul
    special=ignoreptag
    start=1
    title=1

    Channel 6 segment updated again to handle new format.

    [channel6.ie]
    name=Channel 6
    url=http://www.channel6.ie/listings.whtm?date=[day=yy-mm-dd]
    tagtr=start=<li,end=</li
    tagtd=start=<li,<h1,<h2,<p,<div,end=</li,</h1.</h2,</p,</div
    htmlstart=<div class="mainBoxWide" id="listings">
    special=ignoreptag
    start=1
    title=2
    description=5

    Channel tuning GBPVR is easy if you use FreqCopy after tuning the channels manually in the Hauppage software.
