Im thinking of taking up archery, so Ive booked in a 2hr tuition session in Mount Juliet next month.

Just wondering has anyone been there before, and is the tuition and equipment there any good?

There dosnt seem to be much archery in my area, so at least this will tell me whether I like it or not!

There is an archery club in Waterford.

The course in Mount Juliet wouldn't be the best. Your best bet is to try your local club.

Hey just to report back, the session in Mount Juliet was brilliant. It was short range, but I enjoyed just having a go for the first time.

Can anyone give me details of a club that does target archery near Waterford City? I'd like to buy some archery equipment during the summer but ideally Id like to be in a club for a while, just to get some tuition etc.

    Thanks!

The list of clubs is available at the IAAA Clubs page, you can do a beginners course with the use of club equipment... you can get a feel for the sport, talk to other archers, and learn a bit about what gear would suit you, before you deside to keep shooting and get your own gear.

I'm Glad you liked the session. There is a club in Waterford City but they have yet to pay there fees to the IAAA. When they do there details will be on the IAAA website.

    Here are there details

    Waterford Archers

    Anthony Hayes
    Tel : +353 (087) 990 0634
    Indoor and Outdoor
    St. John's College
    Waterford

Hope this is of use to you.

If your intrested in buying equipment during the summer go to www.altservices.co.uk to see the different types of equipment available.

Or you can email archerysuppliesireland@lycos.co.uk and they can get you any equipment for cheaper.
