I'm looking to use a modelling/diagramming tool for an upcoming project.

    Can anyone recommend anything?

I used to use Power Designer a while back, and I heard IBM's Rational product is quite good.

Rational Rose is probably the Rolls Royce of modelling tools, but the sheer breadth of support makes it somewhat difficult to use. The little brothers, Rational Software Architect, Rational Software Modeller and Rational XDE all offer moddelling tools. On the other end of the scale, you can find modelling tools for Eclipse, most of which are free.
