Problem with power cable for sub-woofer

THis is my sub-woofer and the cable in question. the Company is Altec Lansing. This is from 1999 so it's fairly old. I've checked the website but no mention is made of where I can get replacement cables etc... And the model isn't listed...

The probelm is that the wiring has become loose near the head of the cable... to the point that the slightest tap will set the thing off... it takes a while to position it so that it will actually work.

    This is the adaptor..

and this is the cable itself:

I'm just wondering if that is a common type of cable, and if it's easy to replace... or if I will have to go through the manufacturer...

Any help would be greatly appreciated...Even if you have no idea what I'm talking about.. just to let me know... Apologies if the pics are too large, and for the noobishness of the post... I'm fairly lost. :o

Have you tried some electrical shops? They might be able to point you in the right direction. Im almost sure you would be able to sort something out at Peats.
