    Hi Folks,
Need some help and advice please

Dont want my sky subsrciption from beginning of May until start of September (footie season over), i got rid of the movie channels a few months ago , have sports and music package,
If i try to cancel my whole subscription with Sky and then take out another one in September , will it turn out to be a whole load of hassle trying to get reconnected ? . Payment made by direct debit each month. Will i have to give Sky a bit of notice or can i ring them up and ask to canel the whole lot with immediate effect ?.Any other way i can reduce my payment to them for 4 months to the minimum amount possible ??. It aint worth its money any more and now with the footie season almost over ,even less on it for me.

thanks a lot for any pointers

Months notice required and it's no problem resubscribing again.
Now they may offer you half price for the whole lot for 3 months to try and keep you so it may be worthwhile not to say you'll be going back anyway in Sept. and get the halfprice offer which would be about 31 pm, lowest package they have is 21pm or 0pm for the fta channels

Yesterday i reactivated my whole package after 2 months off it and it took less than 10 mins for the channels to reappear

if you havent called them already beware of their reluctance to let you cancel. tell them you are moving abroad

I'm thinking of reducing my package to the basic 2 mix @ €21.50pm but if I cancel altogether might they offer me the full package @ €31pm?

That was a nice offer! That's the price it should be all the time! :)

if they did, who knows i might be keeping it but alas it goes once the 3 months are up

cheers folks for the advice, rang them this evening, gave them the story i was going abroad for 4 months ,transferred me round a couple of departments, eventually got a FTA deal for May until September for 1 euro per month , saves the hassle of total disconnection , wont be watching much on it anyway...its gone to the dogs and even less with the footie season more or less over

Unless they offer you another 3 months half price too!

    Highly unlikely though :/

there is no way will i be keeping it afterwards. i watch hardly anything on it atm. it is all repeats repeats repeats and when the 3 months are up it will be summer time so schedules will probably be even more crap than usual

    A rip off.

There is no hassle with total disconnection. The FTA TV works better with no card :)

When you want to re-connect even a year later it is active in less than 10 minutes, after a phone call, EVEN when they needed new DD details!

rang them last night, reduced the package down to the bare minimum FTA package, from may to september they will charge me 1 euro per month to keep my subscription with them active..happy enough..
