360 - Proof Of Purchase?

Just want to put my mind at rest over something. I've been lucky enough so far with my 360. No signs of it overheating or scratching discs....yet? Anyway, I bought it pre-xmas on my credit card.

If it does suddenly go bonkers and starting burning holes in my games or whatever do I need to produce any proof of purchase to the store from which I bought it, or just phone Microsoft and get them to sort it?

You should have your receipt. If not, you could use a credit card statement, showing the transaction, as proof of purchase.

Alot of shops can look up receipts if you go into them anyway. They keep an online database for a year. I know the shop I work in part-time do.

Whether you have to go to Microsoft depends on the store's policy I think. I know in the place I work if someone brings a console back, we just do a straight swap for a new one if its within the year guarantee. If not, its nothing to do with us.
