They're worth more than face value, I'd hang onto them if I was you. Put them away flat in a book or something.

I remember coming across the ten note in auction last year,.......
dont listen to him telling you to cash them in !!!!
the 10 pound not may fetch you somewhere around the 300 euro mark, ill have to look up my prices so dont hold me on that. i think it made 360 euro at uction last year.....

the 20 ,....never seen one, but would expect it to be a fair bit higher.

LOL I remember those well. You had to have a wallet the size of a small briefcase to carry them around. Colour was almost identical to the old 10/- note.

You're way way off the mark there, these notes are circulated in "aVF" condition and probably worth 2.5x their face value. Even in crisp uncirculated condition neither of them would fetch anywhere near 360 euro. I was offered one of these 10 pound notes in uncirculated condition for 25 Euro simply because one side had pen marks on it. That's how important condition is for notes and coins.

Whatever note you saw going for 360 euro was probably a good condition war time issue with an encircled war code, or a ploughman note or something. Either that or the buyer was just out of a lunatic asylum.

like i say ,.dont hold me to it....
    but......
your right,... it was a fenian bond actually.
i take it all back:eek:

so its worth what ,.......... 30 euro ?
still seems reasonable even as a piece of ephemra !

tks for pulling me up on that, and i have learned something today too :)

Oh yes, definitely worth 360 Euro in reasonable nick. Yeah I'd say you're looking at about 30 euro for the 10 pound note and 50 to 60 euro for the 20 pound note. Assuming theres no pen marks on the other side.
