Forget my whingeing and preparedness to pay any price for a good haircut, what do you all pay on average?

I know I had a disaster to put right, but I paid €75:mad: which is madness really. THIS time only I was willing to pay it, but my heart sinks at having to pay that sort of money regularly.

In my usual hairdressers that I go to in town: wash, cut(excellent cuts btw..give you anything you ask/looking for!) and blow-dry..around 30Euros with my student discount.

I got my hair cut this week and it cost me 43.50. But it really depends on the place. I got mine cut in Peter Marks.

What did you have to get done that it cost 75euro?? Did you get a colour/highlights as well? Coz thats pretty standard I'd say.

15 euros in grafton barbar for wash/cut/dry, with a free irish times and cup of tea while you wait. seems quite good considering my local charges 12.50 for a blade cut.

I cut my own hair, so in total I pay about €10 every couple of years on decent hair and thinning scissors. I also cut my mum's hair if she wants it done when I'm visiting.

It isn't difficult, and both of us normally have layered hair-styles which look complicated. It just takes a few tricks and a lot of confidence. People are usually shocked when I tell them I cut my own hair. But I was very rarily happy with salon results and sick of paying hairdressers to do half-a**ed jobs. I'm much happier doing my own for free and always knowing I'm going to get exactly the style I want.

I got so p*ssed off with a) the price and b) the poor quality of getting a haircut that 4 years ago I stopped going to hairdressers. First I just shaved my head blade1, then I got bored of that in 2003 and since then I've let it grow... But now I'm sick of that and need a haircut. So what do I do?

    Shave it off for charity.

If I have my way, I won't be going near a hairdresser again for as long as I live...

Ring you parents and tell them you've something important to tell them when you get home, then shave your head completely bald and put on an orange robe and some beads - remember to take a picture when they open the door. I haven't paid for a hair cut in about 5 years.

Erm no - just a CUT. No colour, nothing fancy. Apparently it was the "style director" but I had no idea who or what was cutting my hair until I paid:(

Maybe a lesson learned to ask how much its gonna be before getting it done coz that's an awful pricey snip of the scissors. But ya gotta remember you came out happy. ;) Nothing worse than a bad haircut. I know it grows back but it can take a long time and the nicknames take longer to disappear! :(

A tenner does it for me!! I've paid €35 in the past but got sense!

The price of haircuts is crazy.

Most people have bad haircuts anyway.

I bought my own shaver about 1 year ago - I use it about every 2 or 3 months.

The results are as good as going to a hairdresser - I don't even use a mirror.

    Hairdressers constantly chop away anyway.

Bit of gel afterwards and away you go.
