I don't use my camera everyday ,but I've gone through a fair amount of cloths for cleaning my lenses .Somehow I seem to destroy them in no time.

The best cloth I used so far was a Leica cloth ,at the moment I have a Hama cloth ,but a polarizer I have just doesn't seem to be cleaning at all and I've almost wrecked the hama cloth now.

Anyone know what the craic is with keeping things clean without much agro.
Whats the story with cleaning solutions ?

Don't know a whole pile about cleaning cloths or solutions, as I've never needed them

I keep my glass clean behind a UV filter, and if that gets grubby all I do is give it a quick clean with a fresh t-shirt or something soft and cottony

I got 2 microfibre cloths out of the camera exchange in January and they are still going strong. Are you cleaning the windows in your house with them? :) My camera gets really dusty where I use it but the cloths get it off no problems..

No I don't clean the windows with it :D

One of my polarizers is really grubby and no matter what I do it has a film of dirt on it.

I have filters as well ,but I find once one filter stays dirty all filters will end up the same.

One thing I'd like to point out to anyone not familiar with cloths ,never buy a microfibre cloth in an opticians.I was sold a cloth one time by a guy who claimed he uses the cloths himself ,until i realized the film of stuff it left on my lense ,unbelievably hard to remove it had a minty smell from it.

Anyways no one seems to use cleaners so I may just stick with a grubby polarizer for now.

do you have a lense hood? I found it helps with dust and stuff.

Warm soapy water, Quix, will remove the greasy film.
Only do the filters not the lenses, obviously, and dry them carefully.

Use isopropanol alcahol to clean your polarizer

I have hoods for my lenses ,my 70-200 hood is more like a barrel though and I always end up trying to stick my hand in to take the cap off the lense.

Note taken borderfox and hagar .

It wont make me a photographer ,but at least I won't be called a dirty b**trd.

I can't stand dirty glass ,even in a car.
