I've lost all my ipod songs

after plugging in my ipod I got a message saying "can't read ipod need to use ipod reset" or some lark like that.

Now I wanted to backup all my songs, as I am in Oz at the moment and I don't have access to my pc (with all my songs)

so I went to go to <ipod>\ipod_control\music
and every directory is blank

so is there any utility out there for getting back these songs - that people have tried and tested (rather than guessing at a prog, and shelling out money for and seeing it doesn't work )

I tried a program called recover my files - but the songs it recovered are the same songs over and over again :(

    anyone help me??

    please!!

Make sure that you have set (I presume Windows from structure of command) to Show Hidden Files.
Please read the stick, in particular:

If none of the above works - chances are: the HDD/system has become corrupt (Hence the suggestion to recover).
