Has anybody else been asked to join Eircom Broadband Talk as part of a trial ?

If so did they have problems upgrading their router as part of the setup ??

Have Netopia Wireless router but upgrade to install QOS keeps failing, they are re-sending out CD, but want to play with it this weekend. thanks.

Try again with the CD that you have: make sure that you have admin rights on your PC, temporarily disable your firewall software, and connect to the netopia gateway over ethernet (disconnect all other connections).

That should work for you; if it doesn't, follow the instructions in the readme file on the disk. This will take you through a web upgrade if required (to f/ware 742r2) and show you how to manually configure outbound QoS on the router's web UI.

Same problem here. in the end, i following the "Mac" instructions and made the required change manually.

Eircom support were useless on this occasion, knew little or nothing about it.

For eircom to be competitive in voip, surely their line rental will have to be reduced, or voip will be offered to existing customers free of charge for irish an uk landline phone calls ?!!
