Seen a few posts about this crowd (www.mobymemory.com) but no one has given direct feedback about them.

They have a SanDisk 2GB Memory Stick Pro Duo & USB2.0 Pro Duo Reader Bundle incl. USB bluetooth dongle for £78.98 Sterling and then £6.30 sterling for delivery = total of £85.28 sterling which is about €124.

    Seems a brilliant deal.

Any ideas about quality (are they genuine cards etc..)

    Thanks!

Ive known a few folks whove dealt with them and never heard any complaints. Think they have a forum for feedback & discussion which is a good sign. & yep their pretty damn cheap too.

no there not if you know how to buy on ebay.
you have to know how to buy as there are alot of scammers on ebay/

i have to admit ebay if full of fakes, but most buyers cant spot it as they look genuine, thus sellers are selling shedloads of them with positive feedback
I got a 2 gig for 70 yoyos, its sony branded, but i am sure its fake -

I call it generic as it works fine!!!

If you google it there are forums they show the fake and genuine and how to spot the differences

ebay is full of fakes, simple as that, i have a fake 2gb from a reputable uk seller but it works fine so I never complained. The sellers on ebay are hardly gonna say, ye all my pro duos are fake, dont buy from me.

"no there not if you know how to buy on ebay.

    hmmmm ok

I bought a 2GB from Ebay and have another on the way. Both for around 50-60 Euro. I'd geuss they are fakes based on the price it is very hard to tell. but the one I have already is fine and fills up ok to 1910mb.

i think the chip the the memory can be fooled into thinking its a larged capacity, it will show as a larger capacity but the capacity itself isnt bigger.

    eg

512 mb - chip flashed to show it as a 1gig, but the capacity will still be 512mb

Instead of using windows to see the MB space, either through PSP USB, or through a card reader, use the PSP itself...then compare that MB figure to the ones on the fake MS link I posted...turns out mine is 1948mb and it holds all that too...so once it doesn'tgo kaput, I'm happy, fake or not.

The story with memory sticks being larger was:
Sony didnt bother making some of the smaller memory card chips, just say, put a 256mb chip into a 128 branded memory stick. (i have also heard of 1gb into a 512stick). This is rare but I'd say it has been done. The way to get the extra memory on these cards was to format the disk in Windows Disk Manager. It would then show the true size of the chip inside.

There was a thread a while back about the 'double your memory' trick.

I did it with a 1GB card in my SE V800 and it showed up as a 2GB, however, when it was put in my PSP, it asked to format it and put it back to 1GB.

IIRC the trick was something to do with unused partitions. The card I used showed 2 partitions wth one unused. Deleted these and set up a single partition....but no go for the PSP.

If anyone has managed it on the PSP, I would love to know.
