Download is an awful festival, using it as a test festival will put you off festivals lol

Its just another rip off nu metal festival, basically a slightly heavier version of Oxegen!

Well, I will just have to be the judge of that for myself! Certainly got some lame filler this year, but a lot that I am looking forward to aswel. Slightly heavier than Oxygen though? I would beg to differ!

seen COB at wacken in 2004. they put up a good show. i recently downloaded a show from this year and man were they loose. and they bring out a big jeep with the headlights on at the start.i knew it was only a matter of time till they sold out :rolleyes:

I really wanted to go to Download last year but the lineup this year just wasnt enough to make me try and get the time off work. Wakken next year though, without a bloody doubt.

it wasnt just that , it was the whole stage thing they had going. you would have to watch to know what im on about. and they fecked up their own songs so many times too, maybe selling out is a strong word to use lol

That's what put me off going in recent years. I went to Wacken 4 years in a row. At the beginning there were about 20 irish, but gradually more & more went. I don't mind some people I know, but I kind of like going to festivals abroad to get away from it all! Graspop was a great festival for this up to last year, but again the irish contingent started getting quite big.
Think I'll give the festivals a miss for this year & try find lesser known one next year!

Really enjoyed Wacken every year though in apart from the above, so for anyone thats going for the first time, you'll have a ball. Anyone that's going to the uk festivals, mainland European ones beat them hands down. Have been to Ozzfest & Donnington in the past & they don't compare at all!

Bloodstock Open Air is a good festival, not for all tho.

no matter what festival you go to in Europe there is alot of Irish whether its Bang Your Head, Party San, Summer Breeze, Dong Open Air, Hellfest or Metal Mania.
