I was just browsing the FAQ in JK Rowling's webpage and this was said:
    Q. We haven't heard the school song since the first book. Did the teachers rebel against it?

    A. Dumbledore called for the school song when he was feeling particularly buoyant but times are becoming ever darker in the wizarding world. Should Dumbledore ever suggest a rousing encore, you may assume that he is on top form once more

A spoiler for the end of book 7, perhaps? Or just an indication that Dumbledore will be back?

When was that posted or does it give a date? Id be very doubtful of Dumbledore coming back in bouyant mood

No, it doesn't give a date. It could be a few years old alright, but jk must have know for a long time that she was going to kill Dumbledore. He'd be bouyant if he made his triumphant return after Harry killed Voldemort.

Most likely I'm just grasping at straws :o
