Issues with a dealer...

Playing in the merrion tonight, blinds were 25minutes and the dealer i had at my table was, shall we say... 'slow'... i counted on one deal that he riffled the cards together NINE times, in between these he'd cut the cards too.. this was repeated on every hand and some hands had to wait so he could discuss the snooker on the tv. we played less than two rounds of the button on the first two blind levels, about 15 or 16 hands in 50 minutes... i pointed this out as politely as possible and by end of level three we were still on the third round of the button... in this situation, how do you deal with it... do you become 'that guy' at the table who gives out to the dealer for being slow... is this even slow and am i over-reacting... do you mention it to the TD... any ideas? what would you do?

thankfully i had a rather nasty beat and was out shortly into the 4th level... never have i been so content with receiving a bad beat as i got to go home! :p

In The Nuts And Then Have Their Nuts Kick Eachothers Nuts Right Nut Kick Left Nut And Vice Versa Until Everyone Nuts Have Been Kicked And Then Kick Nuts Kick Nuts Nutkicking Kick Nuts Buy A Bag Of Corn Nuts And Kick That And Then Find A Guy With The Last Name Gnutts (silent G) And Kick Him Preferabbly In The Nuts And Finally Kick Yourself Right In The Nuts

Would it not make sense to mention it to the TD so he/she/it can tell the dealer to speed up in a non bollockin way.

I just get frustrated and tilt away my chips. This was a problem every (both) times I visited the SE just after it opened. I looked at my watch and it was approx 1 minute spent on every series of riffles, never mind the wash or actually dealing. Ahhhhhh........

There was a new dealer in the Fitz who was very slow and also making incorrect calls about underraises and the like and not listening too experienced players gently correcting him. I had a word with the TD and the guys performance and attitude had improved immeasurably on the next occasion I saw him dealing.

It's like bad service in a restaurant you can either let it annoy you and ruin your evening and walk away with nothing said and never come back or you can have a quiet word with management if you feel they will take it on board and respond to your concerns rather than jumping down your throat. That's why the Fitz is the best club in town. It isn't fancy but they listen.

the best course of action here is to just say it to the dealer in question. don't get uptight or anything but explain to him that it's taking too long etc

when you see a dealer riffling the cards nine times it's likely that his mind is elsewhere, maybe on the snooker, or he's deep in conversation. Usually a reasonable word to the dealer in question will snap him out of it! if he persists with the talking and day dreaming metc then get Luke/Mags or whoever

moral is tho if something is happening at a table you don't like speak your mind and don't just sit there getting more and more pissed off and tilty
