after seeing a hand on high stakes poker in which daniel negreanu bet $10,000 in the dark and flopped top 2 pair i was wondering what the advantages of doing this are and if there is an ideal scenario to do this i would also like to know the same in regards checking in the dark

the advantage is your opponent knows that you had no idea what the flop would bring, so in affect you are representing an overpair.
