S3 Standby

I have an Abit AN8 Fatal1ty mobo in the PC I built. I used the Flasmenu software it comes with the other day to update the BIOS (do I need to clear the CMOS using the jumper for this to take effect?). This mobo seems to support S3 Standby and Wake-Onchip-LAN.

I want my machine to automatically go into standby after a certain period of being idle, and yet be able to wake up in time for scheduled events. I also want it to wake up on any LAN activity. At the moment when I put it into standby it just wakes up again straight away.

Any advice on how to get it working the way I want is much appreciated. Nice one.
